A Head of Finance is responsible for the company’s long-term financial health and growth. They establish strategies that improve profitability, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate reports on where money is going within the business and improve or change current practices to increase efficiency. The Head of Finance is in charge of leading and managing all finance functions within an organization. They support senior stakeholders on all business reviews, manage budgets across multiple departments/divisions and forecast future needs using a long-term planning process to make informed decisions that improve company performance.
We are seeking an experienced and analytical finance leader with strong numerical skills to drive our organization’s financial operations and improve financial performance. Duties for the Head of Finance will include supervising accounting staff, overseeing internal controls, setting financial targets, implementing fund-raising strategies, engaging with investors, developing a financial strategy, conducting feasibility studies, monitoring expenditure, overseeing annual insurance, monitoring cash flow, evaluating investments, and managing tax compliance. Your skills in sound financial planning coupled with your ability to direct financial assets will assist our organization in implementing effective financial strategies, managing debt, improving revenue, maintaining a healthy financial position, and enhancing investor confidence.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, good strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, exceptional numerical proficiency, and strong leadership skills. The noteworthy finance Head should harmonize financial operations, develop effective financial strategies, guide efforts towards financial stability, monitor all financial activities, promote revenue growth, ensure compliance with accounting regulations, and maintain good relationships with investors.
Head of Finance Responsibilities:
Build + own recurring FP&A processes, including forecasting, scenario planning, and management and board reporting
Synthesize and distill key financial and business insights for leadership by analyzing results, business KPIs, assessing risk, and communicating timely risks and opportunities
Design and build the financial infrastructure to automate and support the growth of our business and operations including our audit and tax functions.
Assessing, managing, and minimizing risk by implementing proper accounting policies and managing internal controls.
Preparing forecasts and comprehensive departmental budgets.
Hiring, training and managing a growing team of accounting staff, analysts, controllers, treasurers, commissions and revenue operations, etc.
Work with HR function to ensure approval process for hires and timely updates to financials
Build strong relationships with the Executive team and key leaders across the organization to identify areas of strategic opportunity and improvement, and implement and operationalize these improvements.
Assist in the preparation of materials for the Board of Director, for prospective investors and for the executive team, including supporting analysis to contextualize performance
Head of Finance Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience in FP&A, consulting or investment banking/ private equity
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in accounting software
Financial management experience and broad understanding of accounting principles
Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for math.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in team management (internal or contract) considered a plus
Ability to work independently to deliver results
